Ayushmann Khurrana joins the ‘police’ bandwagon, to star in Anubhav Sinha’s cop drama
Just when we thought that it’s only Rohit Shetty and Salman Khan who own the cop universe in Bollywood, here comes a surprise addition. If latest reports are to be believed, Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to don a khakee uniform in Mulk director, Anubhav Sinha’s forthcoming cop drama. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the film, set in Uttar Pradesh, will supposedly go on floors in the middle of this year and it will have Ayushmann playing the role of a cop for the first time in his acting career.
Revealing more about this project, a source told the publication, “A chunk of the film will be shot in Kanpur. Like other Ayushmann-starrers, this one too is high on content and on a socially-relevant topic. It is based on a true incident and Ayushmann will play a cop for the first time.” Reportedly, the film has been titled as ‘Kanpur Dehaat’ and the makers are planning to release it by the end of this year. It was only recently when Ayushmann was asked about this film and he didn’t accept nor deny being a part of it.
