After leaving us stumped with his back to back spectacular performances in Badhaai Ho and AndhaDhun, Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up for his next. The actor, who is much-loved for the unconventional roles in plays in his films, will be seen essaying the role of a cop in Anubhav Sinha’s upcoming film, Article 15. The first look of Ayushmann was introduced to fans on Wednesday and it has got the internet talking! But before we move on to further details, let’s get a basic idea of what Article 15 is all about.
As per the Indian Constitution, Article 15 revolves around the prohibition of discrimination on the grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. On the mentioned grounds, no citizen shall be subject to disability, liability, restriction or condition with regard to access of shops, public restaurants, places of public entertainment, the use of wells, tanks etc. The next point mentions that 'nothing in the article can also prevent the state from making any special provision for women, children, and socially and educationally backward classes of citizens or for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.'
It will be interesting to watch Ayushmann donning the cop avatar after Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar among others and we assume he will ace it like any other roles previously portrayed by him. Coming to the first look of the film, it’s a still from the film, in which the actor can be seen in the middle of an investigation as he stands beside his jeep with papers in his hand. As per Sinha’s description, the film is an “investigative drama where the audience too is an accused party”.
