Mumbai Police is undoubtedly one of the most active Twitter accounts. The account has been made so that people of the city can contact with Mumbai Police any time and make complains online too. There’s no doubt that Mumbai Police always replies to the complaints or the queries made on Twitter by the Mumbaikars and we won’t take that from them. But then in the year 2018, Mumbai Police was totally obsessed with Bollywood. There were e-challans given to celebs, then there were memes inspired by dialogues of films, there were songs used to give out messages to Mumbaikars and many such instances. So, let’s check out some of the most interesting tweets made by Mumbai Police this year that were related to Bollywood…
#1 Remember Shahid Kapoor dancing on the song Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai from the movie Phata Poster Nikla Hero? It was an entertaining song and to inform Mumbaikars that obscene acts or words in public are punishable, Mumbai police posted a tweet with Shahid and Ileana’s still from the track. Good One!
#2 There are many actors in Bollywood who love to ride bikes and Kunal Kemmu is one of them. But well, he once forgot to wear a helmet and posted pictures on Twitter. The post grabbed Mumbai Police’s attention and the Golmaal Again actor was given an e-challan. Kunal agreed to his mistake and apologised for it.
#3 And the best tweet of the year award goes to the above tweet. No one can forget the dialogue ‘Our business is our business and none of your business’ from Race 3. Mumbai Police too loved the dialogue and turned it into an informative meme. We now know what to say when somebody asks for our personal details online.
#4 Moving forward we have Uday Chopra in the list. Yes, he is alive and all thanks to Mumbai Police, he was back in news in 2018. So the Dhoom actor tweeted that marijuana should be legalised and that grabbed the attention of Mumbai Police. They gave him back by explaining that how right now consuming marijuana in India is punishable.
#5 This didn’t stop here, taking the reference of a dialogue from 2.0, Mumbai Police once again tweeted about why marijuana can’t be legalised.
#6 The dialogue from Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan, ‘Dhokha swabhav hai hamara’ invited memes and to explain how Mumbai is guarded, Mumbai Police took inspiration from the dialogue and tweeted that Mumbai is not a city for Thugs.
#7 Mumbai Polices’ way of wishing SRK on his birthday was also quite unique. On Nov, 2, 2018, they tweeted a picture of a boy and girl on the bike and both of them wearing helmets. Here they took inspiration from SRK’s film Jab Harry Met Sejal.
#8 And the last one was the fight that Mumbai Police had with Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan. Sonam posted a video of Dulquer in a moving car and using his phone. Mumbai Police thought that the actor was trying to show off some herogiri, but it just turned out to be that the car was being pulled on a truck and they were shooting for the film. Oop!
We look forward to Mumbai Police’s tweet in 2019 too. We are sure Bollywood will keep inspiring them.
