Boney Kapoor confirms Sridevi's MOM will soon hit Chinese theatres
Late veteran actor Sridevi weaved magic on-screen throughout her over-two-decade-long career in the industry. The actor’s last film as a lead actor was MOM, which was released in 2017. The film, which is also her 300th film, impressed both fans and critics. The iconic star also won the Best Actress National Award posthumously for her role in the Ravi Udyawar-directed film, which was produced by her husband Boney Kapoor. Now, the film is all set to rock the Chinese screens as well.
Boney Kapoor, on Tuesday, confirmed to in.com that MOM will release in China on March 22, 2019. After seeing films like Dangal, Secret Superstar and Hichki perform phenomenally well in the Chinese market, we can expect the Sridevi starrer to rake in some great numbers too. In a statement, Kapoor said, “MOM is a film that has connected with both, mothers and audiences, from every region. This is Sri’s last film and our aim is to tell this beautiful story and showcase her most remembered last film to as many people as possible."
The revenge drama is based on the story about a mother who decides to kill her daughter’s rapists after they are proved innocent in court due to lack of evidence. It also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles and was also released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam simultaneously.
