Salman Khan’s next production venture Notebook introduces two new faces, Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl, to Bollywood. The trailer of the film launched a couple of weeks ago and songs from the film have been pouring in since. Nai Lagda and Laila were released over the last two weeks and here’s the third song from the movie. Titled Bumro, the song is composed by Vishal Mishra and sung by Kamaal Khan. While it leads you to believe that this one is the recreated version of the song Bumro from Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta starrer Mission Kashmir, it's far from it. Apart from the hook phrase, there’s nothing similar here. Even the hook phrase is actually from a Kashmiri folk song which was also the inspiration behind the song in Mission Kashmir.
This new Bumro surely impresses and it has beats that will make you dance to it. Notebook is shot in Kashmir and like every song, this song too has some beautiful locations. The track features Zaheer Iqbal with a few talented kids. Zaheer shows off his dance moves in this track and he impresses. Even the kids are adorable. After seeing Zaheer dancing, we're looking forward to Pranutan Bahl’s moves as well.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Notebook is slated to hit the screens on March 29, 2019. Last month, while speaking of buying the song’s rights from the makers of Mission Kashmir, music composer Vishal Mishra told Mumbai Mirror, “There’s no question of buying the rights as we have been inspired by the original folk song. I have even used the Kashmiri musical instrument, rubab, extensively in the song. We are making sure Notebook has only original songs, so it stands out among all the recreations in films at the moment.”
