Kareena Kapoor Khan in politics? The actor has never expressed a desire to involve herself in active politics. But given her popularity, Kareena is a lucrative choice for any political party. The local Congress members of Bhopal have now written a letter to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, urging him to bring Kareena on board, who would be the ideal candidate to contest the 2019 Loksabha elections from Bhopal. Kareena's husband Saif Ali Khan is the son of late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi aka Nawab Pataudi, a member of the former royal family of Bhopal.
"Congress has not won Bhopal seat for more than 25-30 years. We wish that a new face is fielded as Congress candidate to wrest the seat from the BJP. Kareena is the ‘bride of Bhopal’ and we are sure she can do the job for Congress,” Congress leader Yogendra Singh Guddu told Times Of India. Since 1984, Congress has never won a seat in Bhopal. However, Shobha Oza, the state Congress media in-charge also informed the publication that Kareena has not been approached by the party high command yet.
It may be noted that late Pataudi, also a legendary cricketer, contested the 1991 Loksabha Elections on behalf of Congress but lost out to senior BJP leader Sushil Chandra Varma. Whether Kareena is really approached to fight the elections and whether she agrees or not, is something we've to wait and find out.Read More
