Deepika Padukone brought on board as the chairperson of 21st MAMI film festival
Actor Deepika Padukone has joined the MAMI film festival body as the chairperson of its 21st edition.
The MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image) film festival is one of the city's most prestigious film festivals. Spanning over a couple of days, it brings together the best of country and world cinema for movie buffs to cherish. Over the years, MAMI has gained the reputation of hand-picking the choicest of films made across the world; and a highly acclaimed group of artists and film enthusiasts works as part of the body. Actor Deepika Padukone is the newest to addition to MAMI and has been appointed as the new chairperson.
"It's an absolute honour and a huge responsibility. I believe in MAMI's vision & we are committed towards creating a community that cinema lovers & creators of a film-passionate nation like ours truly deserve," Deepika, who is the chairperson of the 21st MAMI festival, told Mumbai Mirror. Given how her filmography boasts of impressive performances and she has stepped into Hollywood as well, we aren't surprised by the choice the MAMI committee has made.
