According to the Indian Express, a source said, “Deepika was elated to receive a handwritten note along with a gift from Rekhaji. It was a heart touching letter from the veteran actress who expressed her awe and appreciation towards Deepika’s performance in Padmaavat.” However, this isn’t the first time that the actress received a token of appreciation from Rekha. After the release of Bajirao Mastani, she gifted Padukone an elegant silk saree. She wore the same saree at a close friend’s wedding and repeated it at style awards as well.

In an interview with leading daily, Deepika said, “For me, it is the success of womanhood in so many different ways. The film is also a celebration of the fact that this is the most expensive Indian film ever been made with a female protagonist. I view that as a victory. Not just for myself but for women in films. In many ways, the film is a turning point in my career and yet I was willing to put that on hold to address a much larger issue.”
According to the reports, the Bhansali girl will again star in his next, a biopic on Amrita Pritam. The role was earlier offered to Priyanka Chopra. Bhansali said that he is still not done with casting Deepika and Ranveer Singh who essayed the role of Aluddin Khilji in Padmaavat.
