On Sunday night, India gathered inside its living rooms! This year's International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) featured the biggest of Bollywood stars, jazzing up the night. To top the attraction, evergreen beauty Rekha performed at the ceremony, after two long decades! No wonder the IIFA world TV Premiere garners hell lot of attention. But amid all the excitement, looks like a Bollywood filmmaker wasn't very pleased.
We came across Kaabil director Sanjay Gupta's tweet, which pretty much sounded as if the award show didn't fit into his taste.
I feel embarrassed just watching our award shows held abroad.
Is this how we present ourselves to the world?

To be honest, the debate pertaining to Indian award shows is nothing new. Numerous times, they have been accused of being staged. Over dramatic executions and larger than life representations often draw flacks too. However, not many mainstream figures speak openly about it.Interestingly, his last outing Kaabil which also starred Kaabil did not make it to the nomination list of IIFA 2018.
