Ranveer Singh is surely being a rockstar in all the songs of Gully Boy. The fact that he raps to perfection in every opportunity he gets, proves how dedicatedly he must have learned and practiced the art of rapping. Beyond that, he has completely soaked in the essence of his character. But apart from that, all Gully Boy songs have a strong socio-economical note that nobody can miss out on. It is the same with Doori, the latest release track.
Penned by Javed Akhtar (which is a pleasant surprise since we can't remember him writing a rap ever in the past), Doori, on a deeper layer, refers to the vast distance, or rather contradiction between the wealthy and the poor as well as the imbalanced distribution of privileges in the society. The entire song consists of visuals of slums, children growing up amid poverty and malnourishment, mothers and fathers in crisis, making it a soul-stirring few minutes. Ranveer, as he sings, is also a narrator of the reality.
The song has been composed by British-Indian music producer Rishi Rich who will also compose the soundtrack of Dibakar Banerjee's in-progress film Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
With two weeks to go before the release, fans are totally beaming in the madness Gully Boy has created. 14th February is the day for all of us to find out if this unconventional V-day release hits gold!Read More
