You’ve probably seen these pictures of Salman Khan and family attending the birthday party of Suhail Khan’s son Nirvaan but in.com can now exclusively reveal the controversy that ensued at Suhail’s Salisbury Park residence in Bandra’s posh locality in Mumbai late on Saturday night. One that threatened to become a full blown riot had the Mumbai police not been prompt in their action to contain the angry mob led by MIM MLA from Byculla, Waris Pathan. It really was a case of the bouncers doing their job but it soon escalated to the point where over a 100 people from the local community gathered in protest of what they thought was an attack on one of their teenagers.
It so happened that the Khan-daan and friends had gathered at Suhail’s house to celebrate his son’s birthday. When word of Salman attending the party went out, paps and people gathered outside to get a glimpse of the star and his entourage. The party was also attended by the likes of Union Minister for State Affairs, Kiren Rijiju and Salman’s long time friend Baba Siddique among others. Bouncers on duty had clear instructions to keep the traffic flowing and avoid any jams because of the VIP movement in and out of the apartment complex. It was during one such guest entry that a teen tried to break the ranks on his bike. The bouncers as instructed stopped him and took away his bike keys. BIG MISTAKE!
What Salman’s security didn’t know was that the boy was known to a local community leader. Not only did he start a ruckus but also called this local strongman. In no time mob of hundred plus people (both men and women) gathered at the spot threatening a ‘chakka jaam’ (road block) if the bouncer was not handed over to them. Salman Khan was still inside while all of this happened outside the apartments. While the other security personnel were being roughed up by the mob, MIM MLA from Byculla, Waris Pathan, too turned up at the venue with his entourage. The crowd had the choicest of expletives for the Khans as the bouncers tried to control the situation. A few of them were even slapped around by the locals threatening that they wouldn’t allow Salman Khan or other guests leave the building.
The Mumbai Police then swung into action and tried to calm the angry mob who refused to leave unless the said bouncer was asked to apologise. The inevitable had to happen. The bouncer though doing his duty had to apologise for the escalating tensions to subside. Our team waited for a reaction from the Khans well into the night. But Khan and friends didn’t leave the premises till 3AM. Salman Khan has a huge fan following in Bandra but looks like this once he was at the receiving end of the people’s ire even though he had nothing to do with the whole incident.Read More
