Following her racist remarks, Esha Gupta writes an apology letter to Nigerian footballer Alex Iwobi
A couple of days back, Bollywood actor Esha Gupta received severe backlash after she shared a screenshot of her conversation with her friend on her social media. Nigerian football player Alex Iwobi who plays for Arsenal was the subject of the conversation. As seen in the screenshot, Isha's friend refers to the footballer as a guerilla and also mockingly said that evolution had stopped for him. Soon after, she took to Twitter to issue an unconditional apology for her deed.
Incidentally, Esha happens to be the ambassador of Arsenal. Enraged at her words, Arsenal fans from all across demanded that she personally apologise to Alex. Esha obliged and has now written a letter to Alex. "For this, I am deeply regretful. I cannot begin to imagine how much I have hurt your sentiments. Racism has absolutely no place in my heart, and I promise you, for whatever it’s worth, going forward this will never happen again,” she wrote as she sought forgiveness, reports IANS.
Esha reportedly also sent a letter to the club, promising to be more responsible in the future. "I hope the club can accept my humblest apology and give me the opportunity to make amends. I promise to be very responsible from here on," she wrote.
