Gully Boy first weekend collection: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer does great business
As expected Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy took a flying start at the box office. The trailer and the songs had created a good pre-release buzz and it got converted into a fantastic day one. According to Box Office India, the movie collected Rs 19.25 crore on day one which is excellent for a non-holiday release. But yes let’s not forget that Valentine’s Day, which was a Thursday, surely helped the movie to get a boost at the box office. However, the collection saw a dip on Friday and Gully Boy collected Rs 12.75 crore.
Thanks to the positive reviews and the amazing word of mouth, the movie showed excellent growth on Saturday and Sunday and collected Rs 18.50 crore and Rs 20.75 crore respectively. In its extended weekend (four days), Gully Boy has collected Rs 71.25 crore which is amazing. The film is doing very well in urban-centres. In Mumbai, it has grossed Rs 27 crore and in Delhi / UP it has collected Rs 16 crore. Though Gully Boy has failed to cross the collection of Ranveer’s last two releases Padmaavat (Rs 75.05 crore) and Simmba (Rs 75.64 crore) in the first weekend, we cannot ignore the fact that both released during the holiday time and plus they had a mass appeal which is missing in this one.

#GullyBoyTrailer out in ✌️days!! 💙🤙
On the contrary, the Zoya Akhtar directorial has given Alia Bhatt her biggest weekend till date. None of her films has collected this much of amount at the box office in four days. If it sustains well at the box office on the weekdays, Gully Boy will enter the 100 crore club in the blink of an eye.
