‘Beyond The Dream Girl’, a biography of Hema Malini, the dream girl of Bollywood hit the stands last evening even as the actress celebrated her 69th birthday on Monday with the gorgeous Deepika Padukone gracing the occasion. The event was attended by her daughters Esha and Ahana Deol but her actor husband Dharmendra gave it a miss. Among the many questions, Malini answered, one that stood out was on her relationship with her step-son Sunny Deol. Hema replied saying she shares a ‘beautiful’ relationship with Sunny who is Dharmendra's son from his first wife.
Dharmendra and Hema Malini have been married for over 38 years now. Dharmendra did not divorce his first wife Prakash Kaur and has maintained two separate families ever since. The 69-year-old actor says there has always been curiosity regarding her equation with Sunny and Dharamji, which has been extremely wonderful and cordial. Malini said, "Everyone wonders what kind of a relationship we (Sunny and I) are having. It is very beautiful and cordial. Whenever it is necessary he (Sunny) is always there, along with Dharamji, especially when this accident happened.”
The actor-MP had met with a road accident near Dausa in Rajasthan in 2015 where her Mercedes rammed into an Alto on her way from Agra to Jaipur. As reported, she had injuries on her forehead and a nose fracture. Malini added, "He (Sunny) was the first person to come and see me at home and he saw that the right doctor is there for the stitches that were done on my face. I was really taken aback to see him showing so much interest.
