It goes without saying that Aditya Chopra is one of Bollywood’s successful directors and producers. He’s given fans some of Hindi film industry’s best, namely DDLJ, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to name a few. He’s also one of the busiest men in the entertainment space with multiple projects currently under his wings. It was recently reported by a leading daily that actor Ranveer Singh is on the cards for Aditya’s next directorial venture. The report claimed that the film is scheduled to go on the floors by the end of the year and Ranveer will be seen in a positive role in the film.
But that’s not to be. Yash Raj Films has issued a statement denying any such development. The statement also adds that Aditya Chopra has not yet finalized anything about his next directorial.
A spokesperson for the company said, "Yash Raj Films would like to categorically dismiss the report suggesting Aditya Chopra is directing his next with Ranveer Singh as reported by Subhash K Jha. As of today, Aditya Chopra has not finalised anything about his next directorial. He is immersed in all his productions for at least 1 more year before he begins thinking/planning his next."
Ranveer is currently shooting for Zoya Akhtar directed Gully Boy. Ranveer’s role in the film is widely cited to be one of the most emotionally challenging in his career. The film is being shot in Dharavi, where locals are reported to be showering the star with a lot of love. Gully Boy is based on the lives of street rappers Divine and Naezy.
“Ranveer is pulling off intense shooting schedules for Gully Boy. They last for 12 hours each day and now he is doing night shoots from 6 pm to 6 am every single day. The locals are showing him massive gestures of love. Some are sending him home-cooked food every day, some are sending him juices so that he could have them during breaks, some are just coming to chat and chill with him when he is on his breaks. Dharavi has made Ranveer their own. He is like a family to them," said a source to News18.
