Salman Khan’s 1997 hit comedy’s reboot Judwaa 2 has become the second highest Hindi grosser of 2017. The Varun Dhawan-starrer has a box-office collection of Rs 137.81 crore. The film now stands in the second position after the Hindi version of Bahubali 2: The Conclusion, which holds a box-office collection of Rs 500 crore. While Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu were seen in lead roles this time, Salman made a guest appearance.
This is Varun Dhawan’s second movie, directed by father David Dhawan, has made it to the top grossers list in 2017. So far, 2017 has not seen any double century baggers at the box-office. The top five grossers till date are, Toilet Ek Prem Katha (Rs 132 crore), Raees (Rs 128 crore), Tubelight (Rs 114 crore) and Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya (Rs 110 crore). Now Judwaa 2, even four weeks after its release is going strong at Rs 137.81 crore and is leading the chart.
Rohit Shetty's Diwali release Golmaal Again is currently dominating the box office. The Ajay Devgn, Tabu-starrer earned Rs 30.14 crore on its opening day and has managed to garner Rs 28.37 crore on Saturday, cashing in on the Diwali holidays. With a collection for the first two days standing at Rs 58.51 crore, it is expected to hit the coveted Rs 100 crore mark any time this week. Golmaal Again also stars Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Prakash Raj, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sanjay Mishra.
