It was in February 2017 that Karan Johar became a daddy to twins Yash and Roohi Johar. Ever since the filmmaker has been loading his Instagram handle with numerous love-filled posts of his two munchkins. However, it looks like raising up his kids is not as easy as it seems to be. In a recent talk show, Johar spoke his heart out and confessed that being a single parent is ‘daunting and scary’. Adding to which, he also shared that having Yash and Roohi was his ‘selfish decision’.
"Being a single parent is really daunting and scary. Because I think it takes a mother and a father to complete the upbringing of a child. In many ways, you could say that having Yash and Roohi is full of love but it is also a selfish decision. It is because I want that love for myself. There was a large empty space in my life that needed to be filled by children,” he said.

He went on to share that he and his mother Hiroo Johar are co-parenting his kids. "There was a large empty space in my life that needed to be filled by children. Oddly, they call me dad and call my mom 'mama'. They don't call her daadi. Because I feel we are co-parenting them. So I am trying very hard that both of us fulfil the roles of mother and a father completely.”
KJo recently rang in his kids’ second birthday and shared many heartwarming pictures from the party. Family portraits of the Dhadak maker were full of love and warmth.
