Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer Kedarnath is faring well at the box office in its first two days in the theatres. The film has collected Rs 17 crore so far and it is expected to continue its good run in the coming days. The movie is set against the backdrop of Uttarakhand floods that took place in 2013. But due to the storyline that revolves around a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl, a lot of people have objected to its release and Uttarakhand government banned the movie in the state.
Director Abhishek Kapoor took to Twitter to plead with the government of Uttarakhand, urging them to lift the ban on his movie in the state. In his tweet, he has written that his movie is an attempt to bring peace, harmony and healing to the people of the country. We wonder if the Uttarakhand government will hear Kapoor’s plea and the ban on the film will be lifted given that the film can do with every little increase in the collection that they can get. Let’s hope that it happens and people of Uttarakhand get a chance to see the movie.
After facing a lot of issues, Kedarnath finally hit the screens on December 7, 2018. The film has received mixed reviews, but audiences are loving it and they can’t stop praising Sara Ali Khan’s performance in it.
