Last week, we saw Ajay Devgn and Kajol sipping coffee with Karan Johar on Koffee With Karan and what a show it was. It was surely one of the best episodes of the season that we have seen till date and Kajol’s high pitched laugh is one to remember. On Sunday night Diljit and Badshah graced the Kouch and here are some interesting anecdotes from the episode. Before we reveal the fun they had on the show, viewers should know that the episode was partly in Hindi to ensure singer Diljit’s full participation. This is only the third time this has happened on the show. The earlier two times was when Karan hosted Rakhi Sawant and Kapil Sharma on the show.
Speaking of Sunday’s episode, we learnt a lot about Diljit and Badshah’s life before they became the stars they are today. Diljit revealed that in his childhood he used to pray for a day when everyone knows him but he won’t know any one. It was also revealed that Badshah was actually all set to be an engineer and he had already started studying engineering. But that was before music happened and as they say, the rest is history!
Narrating their experience of their first performances, Diljit and Badshah, both made a revelation that their first performance was embarrassing. Diljit gave his first performance in his village wearing an underwear and banyan. But the most interesting and entertaining story was of Badshah’s first performance. He recollected that he was asked by a man to rap at a club in Delhi for which he was paid Rs 1500. After the performance everyone praised him and he later came to know that it was a gay club and he performed at a gay party. He now also thinks people in the party found him hot.
Karan probed further to ask the two men how they handle all the female attention they get. Badshah stated that he feels aunties like him more while Diljit says he doesn’t see gender and his answer made Karan and Badshah laugh out loud. What Diljit actually meant was that he doesn’t differentiate among fans. Karan warned him not to say such things in public as he may be misunderstood!
With Diljit on the Kouch, the Kylie Jenner question just had to come up. If you don’t already know, Diljit LOVES Kylie and comments on every Instagram post she uploads. When he was asked about this love for Kylie, he said, “I am sure everyone likes someone and I like her. There’s no boundary when you like someone.”
Speaking of their connection with Bollywood stars, Diljit reveals he is a fan of Salman Khan and Badshah a Shah Rukh Khan fan. Both spoke about their first meeting with the superstars. Diljit revealed he was awestruck with Salman’s personality when he met him for the first time while Badshah stated that when he met Shah Rukh Khan for the first time it was at a party and SRK served biryani with his hands.
One of the most interesting revelations made by Badshah was about his real name. Do you guys know what his real name is? Well, it is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia. The rapper had to mention that it was a Rs 3.20 lakh worth question on Amitabh Bachchan-hosted KBC.
After this episode of Koffee With Karan, one thing is clear. Badshah and Diljit are super familiar with international brands. Karan showed them some of his clothes and told them to guess the brand and guess what! Both the Punjabi mundas gave each other tough competition. Diljit won though.
Diljit and Badshah too were put through the shots game, but this time it wasn’t coffee shots. Instead, Karan made a change to suit their Punjabi tastes. They had to down Chaas/Lassi. The most interesting revelation that came in this game was about Diljit and Badshah making out in a car. The best part was that the Udta Punjab actor was too shy to reveal the details.
It was time for the most famous rapid fire round. Badshah’s answers were rapid but not much fiery. He said that he would like to take Kiara Advani for a date. According to him, Kartik Aaryan is an overrated actor and his favourite Khan is ‘Salarukh’ (a mixture of Salman and Shah Rukh Khan’s name). Well played Badshah! Diljit’s rapid fire was quite boring as his answers were neither rapid nor fiery. He even failed the Kylie Jenner quiz. Of course, Badshah won this one.
Finally, it was time for the buzzer round and Badshah bagged this one too. It was a game in which most of the questions revolved around translating English to Hindi and even Punjabi, and that left Diljit lagging behind.
Well, this episode was not as good as we expected, but it will be a treat for Diljit and Badshah fans.
