Veteran Bollywood superstar Shashi Kapoor has breathed his last in Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai on Monday. He was 79 years old. He had been keeping unwell for several months. The actor's death has left the industry people and fans in a state of shock. The actor was admitted to the hospital for a routine dialysis.
Shashi Kapoor was born as Balbir Raj Kapoor on 18 March 1938. He is the 3rd and the youngest son of Prithviraj Kapoor, the younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor, the widower of Jennifer Kendal (sister of actress Felicity Kendal), and the father of Karan Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor, and Sanjana Kapoor.Kapoor was always able to balance commercial cinema with parallel and international cinema. Some of his most memorable films were Deewar, Kabhie Kabhie, Junoon and The Householder. “Mere pas ma hain” is perhaps his most famous dialogue from Deewar, which also starred Amitabh Bacchan.
