Madhuri Dixit opens up on Alok Nath’s #MeToo allegations, says she was shocked
Ever since former Miss India, Tanushree Dutta, came forward with the shocking allegations of sexual misconduct against actor Nana Patekar, a lot of women opened up on their misfortune and shamed several offenders from Bollywood. Among various other popular names, veteran actor Alok Nath, too, was hit by the #MeToo wave since he was accused of sexual harassment by writer-director Vinta Nanda. Apart from him, Soumik Sen, director of Gulaab Gang, was also accused of inappropriate behaviour by three women.
Recently, Madhuri Dixit, who has worked with both Alok Nath and Soumik Sen, reacted to the allegations. The Devdas actor revealed that she was extremely shocked since she has shared screen-space with Alok Nath in a lot of films and worked with Sen in Gulaab Gang. In a conversation to PTI, Madhuri said, “It is always shocking. Because you’ve known them and you’ve not known them like that. It is always shocking when something like that comes out. What you’ve known them and what you’re reading is two different people. It was so shocking.”
Workwise, Madhuri Dixit is gearing for her forthcoming release titled Total Dhamaal. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and others in the lead. Directed by Indra Kumar, it is slated to release on February 22, 2019.
