Manikarnika first week collection: Kangana Ranaut starrer has stellar run for a woman centric movie
Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi has done well in its first week.
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi starring Kangana Ranaut released last Friday to mixed reviews, but thanks to the word of mouth, the film has seen a stellar collected for its first week. Manikarnika took a slow start at the box office and according to Box Office India, it collected Rs 7.75 crore on day one. It showed a huge jump on Saturday, which happened to be Republic Day and collected Rs 17.75 crore and Sunday saw a rise of Rs 14.75 crore. In its first weekend, the movie collected Rs 40.25 crore.
It was now time to prove itself on weekdays. There was a drop on Monday as expected and the collection stood at 4.50 crore, but over the week, it sustained well, collecting a total of Rs 56.85 crore in seven days. That figure is excellent for a woman-centric movie. But the high budget of the film will play the villain here. Though the makers have already earned a good chunk of the budget through the pre-release sales, theatrically Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi cannot be called a hit just yet. But let’s wait and see how it performs in its second weekend.

The Hindi version of the film has collected Rs 15 crore in seven days and the Marathi version has collected Rs 10 crore, taking the overall total to Rs 25 crore. The makers have claimed that they have made the movie in just Rs 20 crore which means that Thackeray has already collected more than its budget.
Manikarnika and Thackeray aside, there's a movie that's been in the theatres for three strong weeks now. We're talking about Uri: The Surgical Strike. This Yami Gautam and Vicky Kaushal starrer’s josh
at the box office has been extremely high even in its third week. The film collected Rs 36 crore in the third week taking the total to Rs 169.99 crore. It is already a blockbuster and we won’t be surprised if this one crosses the 200 crore mark.Read More
