Manikarnika: Producer Kamal Jain finally speaks up about Kangana Ranaut and Krish war
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi has been in theatres for a week now and may be fairly well at the box office but there's a war of sorts off-screen as well. Ever since the promotions of Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi began, Kangana Ranaut has been claiming that she shot 60-70 percent of the film. Once the film released, cinegoers saw Kangana's name in the credits ahead of Krish, as the director of the massive project. Krish, however, waited for the film to release before lashing out at Kangana over the decision to call herself the primary director. In multiple interviews, Krish claimed that Kangana has only shot 20-25 percent in the first half and 10 percent in the second. He also went on to say that Kangana was insecure of other actors who had significant screen time and wanted the movie to be only about herself. While Kangana hasn’t spoken about it, her sister Rangoli has been bashing Krish on Twitter. Its a Kangana vs Krish war now and finally producer Kamal Jain, who was hospitalised during the release of the film, has spoken up about the whole fiasco.
Jain stated, “It’s very sad how Krish is trying to claim credit for what he doesn’t deserve, it was mine and studio’s collective decision to give credits the way they are. To attack Kangana who stood by the film from beginning to end is very sad. Whatever she did, she could have not done without production and creative team’s consent. For Krish, rather than making it a media trial, specifically, after huge critical claim and box office success, is a clear attempt to harm our film. Why doesn’t he go legal way if he is speaking the truth and prove his claims? We tried to handle this matter on every level, nothing was done without informing him. It’s sad he chose to create this controversy at this stage.”
