The makers of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ will soon announce its release. The clarification came on Thursday, February 8 after rumours said that its release has been shifted from April to August. The film, which is based on Rani Laxmibai, features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.
In response, the makers released a statement quashing all such reports and said, "This is with regard to rumours doing the rounds that 'Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi' will now be releasing on August 3rd. The producers of the film, Kamal Jain and Zee Studios haven't officially announced the release date yet."Manikarnika is currently in the news after Brahmin outfit Sarva Brahman Mahasabha alleged that it distorts historical facts. They demanded that the makers have to share complete details of the film's story to prove undistorted facts. KV Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of the film, responded by saying, "No need to worry about it as I have portrayed her in the most respectable way. She is a warrior who fought against the British. She is my favourite woman leader. I have grown up reading about her. So, I will always portray her in an inspirational way."
