Most Indian beauty pageant winners have a rather smooth ride into Bollywood. While the likes of Aishwayra Rai, Sushmita Sen and Priyanka Chopra went on to make it to the A-list in Bollywood and Hollywood, a few like Gul Panag, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey didn’t make it past a few films. So when Manushi Chillar brought home the Miss World crown after 17 long years, it’s inevitable that questions of her entry into B-Town have risen. Is she keen in joining Bollywood? Or does she want to pursue her career in other field considering she’s a doctor first and then a supermodel?
“My focus is entirely on Miss World, after which I plan to complete my education. But I am always open to opportunities because you never know what surprise life might offer you.” Manushi said in a press conference. Well, we got that hint.
Although Manushi is yet to foresee her career in films, she is quite a fan of Priyanka Chopra and Aamir Khan. “All the actors are very beautiful & talented but I would like to work with Aamir Khan. I think he has really challenging roles to give & his movies give a message & connect with the society. My personal favorite actress is Priyanka Chopra.” Manushi added.
Apart from the title, Chillar also won the Beauty with Purpose award. Born to doctor parents from Haryana, Manushi studied at St. Thomas School in Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat. The 21-year-old has achieved a lot at this age and has expressed her dreams to work in Bollywood with the perfectionist. Is Aamir Khan listening? If he is, we might soon see the Miss World on the silver screen.
