Guneet Monga, known for producing films like Gangs of Wasseypur, The Lunchbox, Masaan and Zubaan, has now won an Oscar. The producer’s documentary Period. End Of Sentence. won an Oscar in the category of Documentary Short Subject by beating films like Black Sheep, End Game, Lifeboat and A Night At The Garden. Period. End Of Sentence. deals with the issue of Indian women fighting against the taboo of menstruation and also gives us an insight into the work of real-life Pad Man, Arunachalam Muruganathan.
The documentary is directed by award-winning Iranian-American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi.
