The new song from Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman has released and it is called Sayaani (clever). Akshay took to Twitter to announce the release of the song, He also posed the question – the girl has become clever, when will we? The video of the song is interesting, with an age-old tradition being portrayed and Akshay’s character comparing menstruation to a cricket test-match.
The song portrays the tradition of celebrating the commencement of menstruation for a girl. Radhika Apte’s character is seen as part of the ritual. Some young boys call the ritual a ‘test match’.
Akshay's character makes a good analogy with pads required in test matches to not get hurt being similar to pads required by females during menstruation.
Earlier when asked if he is concerned about the box-office collections of the movie, Akshay told IANS, "I am not thinking about how much money it will collect from box-office. It doesn't matter to me. For me, the biggest thing was when I saw 3-4 youngsters outside my vanity van discussing issue the on menstruation. So I think this is the biggest achievement of this film when three or four men talk about the issue of menstruation. It is not necessary for me to think about how much business it is going to do but every morning, when I monitor my social media, I see people are talking openly about sanitary pads and menstruation and that is I feel my film's biggest victory."
The song 'Sayaani' is composed by Amit Trivedi and Kausar Munir wrote the lyrics. Yashita Sharma, Jonita Gandhi, Yashika Sikka and Rani Kaur gave their voice to the song. Read More
