Pulwama Terror Attack: Anupam Kher reacts to Navjot Singh Sidhu’s statement on Pakistan
The terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pulwama district has taken the entire nation by anger and disappointment. On February 14, 2019, More than 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred by a suicide bomber belonging to a Pakistan-based terrorist organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The terrorist drove an explosive-laden SUV into a bus packed with jawans. While a majority of celebs from across various fields expressed their grief and rage over the cowardly brutal attack, Navjot Singh Sidhu was held for his rather diplomatic point of view.
His statement, "For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished,” received backlash. He is being criticised to the extent that people want him to be sacked from both - The Kapil Sharma Show and politics. Apart from the netizens and politicians, Sidhu’s comment has irked Bollywood actor Anupam Kher as well. The Ram Lakhan actor took to his Twitter account and shared his displeasure. On being asked about Sidhu, Anupam Kher, wrote, “Sometimes when you talk too much, it can lead to you talking rubbish.”
Reportedly, the cricketer-turned-politician has been fired from The Kapil Sharma Show, following his insensitive remarks on the Pulwama attack. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation as of now.
