Ranbir Kapoor has just completed his schedule for the Rajkumar Hirani directed Sanjay Dutt biopic and is prepping for his upcoming films. The actor is currently gearing up for his next fantasy drama titled Brahmastra directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film also stars Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in important roles.
According to Pinkvilla, Agneepath director Karan Malhotra has signed a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films. And if reports are to believed, Karan's first film with YRF will also have Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. So far, Ranbir has worked with YRF for two films - Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009).
Karan Malhotra has directed entertainers such as the Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra starred Agneepath in 2012. He also directed Brothers in 2015, starring Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra.
This would be an incredible combo of the best three brands in the industry and the result would surely be wonderful for the audience. Meanwhile, YRF has not yet made any official announcement on this project.
When asked about Brahmastra by a leading daily, Ranbir said “Well, it’s not really a superhero film because the word ‘superhero’ comes with a preconceived notion about it. The film is, as Ayan puts it, ‘a magical romantic fairy tale set in contemporary times.’"
Ranbir’s biopic based on Sanjay Dutt is still untitled and is set to be released later this year.
