Ranveer Singh is an actor full of energy and is known to carry an immense amount of energy anywhere he goes; be it on the sets of his next film or an awards function. He made his mark in Bollywood right from the word go, with his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat and there’s been no looking back. The trailer launch of Padmavati gives fans another glimpse of what could be another stellar performance from the versatile actor.
Ranveer’s slow but steady rise into the big league of the industry has been credited with his ability to experiment with a diverse range of characters and looks. The actor, who turned heads when he went bald to essay the role of Peshwa Bajirao in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ a few years back, is back with yet another historical character ‘Alauddin Khilji’. Unveiling his royal and fierce look in the film ‘Padmavati’ is a testament to his willingness and ability to seamlessly transform into any character he plays on-screen.
The actor, who started off his career with ‘Band Baaja Baaraat, donning the role of a street-smart and fun-loving character with a messy hairdo with a stubble, was an instant hit with the audience. But it was 2013 that proved to be a huge turning point for the actor, with the film ‘Lootera’, a film set during 1950. Ranveer adaptability as an actor was on display as he took on the role of a thief in the film. His journey has only been upward from there. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela saw the actor talking in a Gujarati accent, sporting long curly locks, a thick beard, and a prominent mustache. He not only won the hearts of the audience but the film gave also him the big breakthrough in Bollywood. From being a flamboyant Ram he seamlessly slipped into the character of a Maratha warrior Peshwa in Bajirao Mastani.
Ranveer’s menacing looks and immaculate acting in Padmavati will prove to be another feather in his hat. Known to never shy away from a challenge, Ranveer will step into another historical character as Alauddin Khilji. There is little doubt that he will succeed in winning our hearts again. December 1st couldn’t come sooner.
