Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh had mesmerised everyone with his incredible performance in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Padmaavat. He followed it up with a number of mind-blowing performances on stage at various award ceremonies. Now if reports are anything to go by, the actor is all set to show off his moves at the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League 2018. According to Hindustan Times, Ranveer will be paid a whopping Rs 5 crore for a 15-minute performance.
A source speaking to HT said that Ranveer was the first choice of the organisers. And considering his huge fan following, the star was offered such a huge amount. “His appeal cuts across cities, age-groups and has an equally big fan following among men and women. That’s why the organisers felt that he is the perfect fit for the performance at this year’s IPL opening ceremony,” said the source.
The source also went on to add that Ranveer is taking time off his schedule to rehearse for the event. He is currently working on Gully Boy and is also preparing for Simmba but has apparently planned on balancing his time “for his performance’s rehearsals as well as other professional commitments.”
Ranveer will be teaming up with Alia Bhatt for Gully Boy, which is being directed by Zoya Akhtar. The film is slated to release on February 14, 2019.
