Saif Ali Khan's Sacred Games: First Indian production by Netflix to release in July
Netflix has become quite popular in India these days. The company has now announced the releasing date of Saif Ali Khan - Nawazuddin Siddiqui – Radhika Apte starrer, Sacred Games. The show will release on 6th July. Netflix India released a 30-second announcement video, including the logo and the title design for the show. The teaser video starts off sounding and also looking a lot like the starting video of Game of Thrones. The clip shows a design from various angles and has a soft music playing in the background.
Sacred games will feature Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh while Nawazuddin will play the role of Ganesh Gaitonde. Radhika Apte’s role will be that of a celebrity, though not much is known about it.
The Sacred Games web series is based on the bestselling novel of the same name, written by Vikram Chandra. The story circles around a policeman, a criminal overlord, a Bollywood film star, politicians, cultists, spies, and terrorists. The official description of Sacred Games describes it as the story of “the lives of the privileged, the famous, the wretched, and the bloodthirsty interweave with cataclysmic consequences amid the chaos of modern-day Mumbai.”
The series is about Sartaj Singh, a police officer from Bombay who is on a mission to capture the notorious Ganesh Gaitonde, a criminal overlord leading the G-Company.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, Sacred Games will have eight episodes and is the first Indian web series production by Netflix.
