Apart from acting and production, Salman Khan has ventured into other businesses too and today the star dabbles in real estate, gyms, single-screen theatres, mobile phones and what not. Now the actor is a landlord too. In 2012, the megastar purchased a sprawling 14,000 sq feet plot located in Linking Road, Santacruz, for an estimated value of Rs 120 crore (approx) even as construction work began between 2013-14. Today the building houses his office, Salman Khan Productions and his Being Human showroom too isn’t very far from the location. The plot is situated in a prime spot and has good commercial value and we now hear that the megastar has rented out the entire ground floor of his building for over Rs 80 lakh (approx) to the Future Group.
A source says, “Salman’s father Salim Khan apparently inked the deal last year in which 2,140 sq m commercial building in Santa Cruz was leased out to the corporate (which owns another Indian retail giant), for a period of five years for a whopping Rs 80 lakh per month for a Foodhall store. Foodhall is a premium lifestyle food superstore that sells gourmet products found all over the world and aims to offer a new culinary experience."
"Currently, Foodhall has six stores present in Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Gurgaon. In fact, novelist and columnist Twinkle Khanna was present at the launch in December last year. The building has a basement, lower floor, first floor and a second floor. Everything from groceries to condiments are available at the store, as well as a cheese cellar, coffee lab and a cookery studio. Salim Khan has also given an office to Salman’s brother Sohail in the same building,” the source added.
