Former CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani is absolutely unrattled by the debacle of Julie 2 and is currently focusing on his upcoming productions. In a recent interview with Mid Day Pahlaj revealed that he has two scripts in the pipeline. One of them is a sequel to his 1993 action-comedy Aankhen and the poster boy of Sanskar is planning to rope in several Bollywood A-listers like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Imran Khan for casting as double twins in the next venture.
‘’Ranveer and Arjun are No 1 on my wish-list. I want them to play the leads in Aankhan Chaar. They have great chemistry. With each character playing a double role, we will see two Ranveers and two Arjuns, along with a chimpanzee," said Nihalani in the same interview.
Well in case the deals with these actors don't lock, Pahlaj has got back-up plans. He is also looking forward to work with other top actors Shahid Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana. "Ranbir and Imran will also make an excellent combination, as well as Ranbir and Shahid [Kapoor] and Ayushmann [Khurrana] and Rajkummar [Rao],’’ he added.
The producer hopes to produce a storyline that caters to the youth. "The subject will be completely different. It should reflect current times. It should be modern, keeping the trends and the youth's preferences in mind. It will have Indian values and sentiments at its core, but, will be one that appeals to the youth," he said, confirming that it will be a comedy since "people want entertainment".
The man even wishes to direct one of the two upcoming ventures. Talking about Julie 2’s epic box-office failure Pahlaj added, ‘’Julie 2 has taught me valuable lessons. I have learned the market trends."
