Shahid Kapoor to make his debut as a producer with the Dingko Singh biopic!
Gone are the days when being a Bollywood star was limited to acting, our favourites are now up for some multitasking. After Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to don a producer’s hat. The film in question is his upcoming biopic based on the life a Northeastern boxing champion, Ngangom Dingko Singh. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, a source has revealed that Shahid will be co-producing the film with Raja Krishna Menon, who also happens to be the director of this film.
According to the source, Shahid Kapoor has bought the rights to Dingko Singh’s story and he roped Raja to direct it. The source said, “Now, they have joined hands to produce the film. It will be primarily shot in Manipur, besides Delhi, while an international schedule is also being planned. It’s a difficult script to write, so it has taken time, but it will go on the floors this year. Raja is currently putting the research together with his writers.”
Reportedly, Shahid has started his preparations for the role as he spent some time with Dingko, to understand his life. Ngangom Dingko Singh is one of the most prominent Indian boxers, who had won a gold medal at Bangkok Asian Games in Thailand in 1998, at the age of 19.
Shahid Kapoor is currently shooting for the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy titled, Kabir Singh. The film also stars Kiara Advani and will hit the big screens on June 21, 2019.
