2019 looked like a bright year for Shraddha Kapoor. She is set to appear alongside superstar Prabhas in the high-budget action drama Saaho. Apart from Saaho, Shraddha was to be the lead star in the biopic of ace Badminton player Saina Nehwal. The film was announced almost two years ago; and of late, the actor was even shooting for the biopic, after having gone through badminton training with coach Ishan Naqvi for months. The Saina Nehwal biopic rolled on floors in September last year but came to a pause when Shraddha was diagnosed with dengue. While she resumed shoot post-recovery, the actress has now dropped out of the project altogether!
Instead of Shraddha, actor Parineeti Chopra has come on board to play Saina. “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics," producer Bhushan Kumar told Mumbai Mirror, confirming the change. Parineeti, on the other hand, says she is 'delighted to get an opportunity to portray a strong and powerful girl like Saina who put our country on the world map".
As per the report, the decision is owing to Shraddha's already packed schedule. She is presently filming for Nitesh Tiwari's Chhichhore. She was recently also in London alongside Varun Dhawan for Remo D'Souza's Street Dancer 3D and her Mumbai schedule is yet to begin. Apart from that, Shraddha will be also seen in Baaghi 3 opposite Tiger Shroff, which is touted to be another action thriller. Saaho is expected to release in August and it is expected that she will jump into a promotional spree at least a month before.
Parineeti has her plate full too. While Kesari is just days from release, Pari recently wrapped up work on Jabariya Jodi which is scheduled to release in July. She also has Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, the film that sees her opposite buddy Arjun Kapoor and will hit the theatres in June.
