Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike is already a blockbuster at the box office. The movie is in its seventh week and is doing quite well. After a good seventh weekend, the film showed a drop on Monday, but surprisingly it witnessed a jump on Tuesday. According to Box Office India, the film collected Rs 50 lakh on Monday and on Tuesday, when most of the films show a drop, Uri: The Surgical Strike showed a jump and collected Rs 65 lakh.
This jump in the collection was witnessed on the day when the Indian Air Force did a surgical strike on PoK. We contacted trade analyst Atul Mohan and asked him if the growth in the collection is because of the second surgical strike, to which he said, “Yes, you correlate both of them (collection and surgical strike). Because like Uri: The Surgical Strike is doing exceptionally well, people have loved the movie and it’s on the same topic, a surgical strike which was done earlier. And now, it happened again.”
When asked him if the collections will get better further considering the current situation, Atul Mohan said, “If you see the overall trend of the film, right from day one the film has picked up the momentum and has remained steady even in its seventh week. It has been a long time we have seen such a patriotic film which leaves you with a lot of energy and patriotism. And the timing has been in the favour of the movie with all the developments which have been happening from the past few days.”
Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strike that took place in 2016 and looks like moviegoers after knowing about the second surgical strike decided to watch the film to know more about what exactly is a surgical strike. On Tuesday, after the surgical strike took place, the dialogue of Uri: The Surgical Strike, ‘How’s The Josh? High Sir’ was trending on social media.
