With her upcoming film Thackeray, Amrita Rao is making a comeback to films. The pretty face was widely loved in Shahid Kapoor's debut film Ishq Vishk which was only her third big-screen appearance. The pair was later repeated in Sooraj Barjatya's Vivah, a quintessential family drama that the audience still likes. The last time we saw her in a film was in 2012; she appeared in Prakash Jha's Satyagraha. In the meantime, she refused a number of films that came her way.
Why such a long hiatus though? Amrita says that the kind of work she was getting, didn't suit her. "I think life changes its way every few years. I was in a phase of life which required me to take a break. There were films I had to say no to since I wasn't comfortable the on-screen requirements. So, here I am, as Meena Tai Thackeray," she told In.com during an exclusive conversation regarding her film.

Amrita, in 2016, tied the knot with RJ Anmol and concentrated on spending some quality time with her family. The actor, who plays Bal Thackeray's wife also reveals the makers left her with no choice of saying no as they specifically had her on mind for the role!
Directed by Abhijit Pansey, the film releases on 25th January.
