Thackeray: Nawazuddin Siddiqui celebrates film's success on the sets of Sacred Games 2
Amid rounds of debates including Shiv Sena asking for a solo release of the film and members allegedly creating ruckus at a theatre, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Amrita Rao starrer Thackeray has hit the screens. While it managed to avert a clash with Emraan Hashmi's Why Cheat India (because producers of the laters preponed their film willingly), Thackeray still clashed with Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi at the box office. On its first day, the biopic of Bal Thackeray (Hindi) has minted around Rs 3 crore.
Whether or not critics liked the film, everyone agreed that Nawaz, who essayed the late Shiv Sena supremo on the big screen, did an absolutely commendable job. He is already occupied with Sacred Games 2. On the sets, director Anurag Kashyap and team kept a small success celebration for the actor. Nawaz also shared a picture of the congratulatory cake, with 'Congratulations Tiger' written on it. Tiger is the new name he has been given, is it?

In its second week, the Hindi version of Thackeray managed to pace up and collected around Rs 4.5 crore. The Marathi version is going stronger and the two versions, cumulatively, have earned around Rs 16 crore so far. Maybe a bigger success party sometime soon?
