The Dhamaal franchise that began in 2007, went on to become the audience's favourite as soon as Dhamaal, the first film, rolled out in theatres. Dhamaal that revolved around four friends i.e. Boman Irani, Arshad Warsi, Asrani and Riteish Deshmukh was a laugh riot. To delight us further, its sequel Double Dhamaal was released in 2011, featuring new faces Kangana Ranaut and Mallika Sherawat. For the longest time, a third edition of the franchise was in discussion and it is finally happening now!
Total Dhamaal, another adventure comedy that hits the theatres soon, stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, and Jaaved Jaaferi among others. As a special attraction, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit (whose on-screen pairing evoked unmatched romanticism a couple of decades back), will be seen making a special appearance! Add to it the fact that Sonakshi Sinha will shake a leg on Helen's cult track Mungda. The trailer of the film was out on Monday. It's worth one watch from you!
Both the Dhamaal films have minted good money in the past. Dhamaal, having been made with a budget of around Rs 19 crore, earned around Rs 45 crore at the box office. Double Dhamaal, on the other hand, was made with Rs 29 crore approximately and raked in around Rs 61 crore, double of its budget! Knowing that the film stars a bunch of ace actors great at comedy and the audience has always well-received the films, it is safe to assume that Total Dhamaal will bring money home as well!
