Biopics have become a successful trend in Bollywood. Joining the bandwagon, Kabir Khan is coming up with a sports biopic titled ’83. The premise of which is set against the backdrop of the 1983 cricket World Cup. In the film, Gully Boy actor Ranveer Singh will be stepping into the shoes of former captain Kapil Dev. Apart from Ranveer, the makers have roped in several other talented actors from the young lot and with each new addition, the cast is only getting bigger and better. The latest entrant is actor Dhairya Karwa, who last impressed us with his impeccable performance of a Sardar soldier in URI: The Surgical Strike.
Dhairya will be essaying the role of former Indian cricketer and current head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri. The actor is absolutely excited and has already begun with the preparations. Speaking about the same, Dhairya said, “I have been prepping for my cricketer’s role for some time now. I have played cricket at school. But that’s obviously not enough.” He further revealed that he will be soon meeting the man himself and hopes he gives him a thumbs up, “It is the logical and right thing to do. I hope he approves of the actor who’s playing him.” We are sure you will kill it, Dhairya!
