The Students of the year (minus Sidharth Malhotra) are up to their funny antics once again. But this time, for a good cause. Bollywood’s next gen stars, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, were seen in an advertisement, giving Romeo and Juliet an Indian flavour for a clean city initiate by Adar Poonawalla. The duo are back again to shoot for another advertisement where they will be seen dressed as astronauts.
The advertisement will be produced by Dharma 2.0 and will be directed by I hate Luv Storys director, Punit Malhotra. He had even directed the Romeo-Juliet advertisement.
Malhotra had shot a commercial with Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan a few months ago for Gauri’s home décor – D’décor. While talking to Mid-Day, he said that Dhawan and Bhatt were the ideal choice for such a campaign. "They are youth icons. When they back such powerful concepts, it drives the point home, especially among the youngsters."
The commercial is a part of the Adar Poonawalla Clean City Initiative. In the advert, the duo is seen descending on the moon from a spaceship. When Dhawan unwraps a chocolate bar and chucks the wrapper on the ground, an irked Bhatt teaches him a lesson by leaving him behind on the moon, all by himself!
Malhotra, says, "The importance of a greener and cleaner environment needs to be reinforced. We addressed that in the first ad. The second one will release soon."
