Vishal Bharadwaj to cast Kriti Sanon in his next venture
Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj was earlier believed to be working on the adaptation of the book The Exile: The Stunning Inside Story of Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda In Flight. However, it seems that there is another script that the filmmaker has been pursuing. Reports suggest that the title of the movie is Churiya and will have Kriti Sanon in the lead role.
The movie Churiya, which means sharp knives, is supposed to be a story dealing with the subject of sibling rivalry between two sisters. Reports suggest that the film will feature the ugly spat between two sisters, which goes on to get verbally and physically abusive. Kriti might play the role of the younger sister.
While the hunt for the elder sister is on, it is said that many actresses such as Parineeti Chopra, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonakshi Sinha, and Shraddha Kapoor and many others have given screen tests. If recent reports are to be believed, Sonakshi Sinha and Vaani Kapoor are seen as the prime contenders for the role.
The movie, which is set at the backdrop of Rajasthan, will be Bhardwaj’s next project after Rangoon. The filmmaker-producer also had planned to work on another project titled Padeeu along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, however, it has been kept aside for the moment, owing to an alleged fallout between Siddiqui and Bharadwaj.
