Vivek Oberoi starrer PM Narendra Modi biopic goes on floors
Biopics seem to be the flavour of the season. Many seasons actually! We've seen a sizable dose of them over the last few years. From M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story to Sanju to Soorma to the recently released Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. But Bollywood isn't done just yet. We will soon witness one of the most interesting biopics on big screen. We are talking about the biopic of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was a few weeks ago when the biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi was announced with a lot of fanfare. The makers released the official poster of the movie in which Vivek’s look as PM Modi was unveiled. Even as fans are divided over whether Vivek looks like Modi or far from it, the shooting of the film has kickstarted and the actor took to Twitter to announce it.
He shared a picture from the sets of the film, posing with the clapboard along with the director Omung Kumar and producer Sandip Ssingh. The movie will be shot in different locations across Gujarat with the first schedule kickstarting in Ahmedabad. The movie also stars Darshan Kumaar and Boman Irani in pivotal roles but it is yet to be revealed as to which characters they will be playing in the movie. This is one biopic that the whole nation is waiting for.
It is the year of elections and movies like The Accidental Prime Minister and Uri: The Surgical Strike are dropping aplenty. Some of them are even being labelled propaganda films. When we earlier met the producer Sandip Ssingh and quizzed him about this movie too being called a propaganda project, he said, “I should be scared of the fact that I am making this film. But I am never scared of anything and we should never be scared, just go ahead and take the risk and achieve something that we want to achieve. When I thought of this idea, everybody told me don’t make it. But it was me who decided to make this film and I will make this film and it will release. I am not thinking of elections, I am not afraid of any party and I am not afraid of what people are going to say.”
Well, the release date of the movie is not yet announced, but let’s hope we get to see PM Narendra Modi on the big screen soon.
