He certainly has been one of the bold actors, when it came to picking films. However, it looks like Emraan Hashmi probably wants to put a pause to his 'serial kisser' tag. Accordingly, he is also making a slight shift of genres he involves himself into. Not that it assures success; his last outing Baadshaho was, in fact, a dud. But he is not scared of experimenting. In fact, he has even moved on to co-produce his next, Why Cheat India, that has him in the lead. He indeed doesn't want to go back.
In a conversation with HT, the actor marked his 'progress' of coming down to one kiss in this film, from ten in his debut film (Murder, opposite Mallika Sherawat). "Why Cheat India has a kiss. Perhaps, I will not have a kiss in the next one; no wait, that has one too. So, perhaps in the one after that. However, I had 10 kisses in my first film and one in my upcoming film, so that is progress according to me,” he said.

In Why Cheat India, earlier known as Cheat India, Emraan plays the mastermind of an exam scam and the film looks like a thorough depiction of how, in India, education is a lucrative business opportunity. He also says he didn't want a kiss in the film at all. "I and the director were clear we will not have kissing in the film but my producers wanted to at least shoot it because it shows the chemistry between the boy and the girl. I resisted it but it came down to threats and we shot it as the last scene of the film," he added.
Waiting for that one film where he doesn't kiss at all. ;)
