Yogi Adityanath makes Uri: The Surgical Strike tax free in UP, but isn’t he a bit late!
Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike released on January 11, 2019 and the film is having a strong and stellar run at the box office, thanks to good reviews and steady word of mouth. The movie is in its third week and has collected Rs 160.24 crore to date. Even as it enjoys its blockbuster status at the BO, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath has announced the movie a tax-free in the state. This comes a solid two-and-a-half weeks after release.
On Tuesday, Adityanath announced that his cabinet has decided to exempt GST for the film. He is of the view that the movie will implant a feeling of nationalism in the youth and the citizens of India. While it may have already served its purpose, this decision is a bit late, isn't it? Twitterati too isn’t very happy about the movie being announced tax-free at this point of its journey, given that the movie hs already witnessed glory at the ticket counters.
Let’s see if this tax-free status in Uttar Pradesh will give the film a boost in the state or not. By the way, ‘How’s The Josh?’ ‘High Sir’.
