Diljit Dosanjh is known for playing roles of a different era. He brings alive characters on screen with his soft subtle eyes. This year too he will be living on screen as a member of the Sikh regiment who fought in World War I in Sajjan Singh Rangroot. The first look of the poster revealed today, 31st January has got all his fan’s attention.
True to his previous characters, this time too he will play a turbaned gentleman, albeit living in 1918. The poster shows him covered in dust in his army uniform with a heavy turban sitting tight on his head. The rifle on his hand and specks of blood on his turban tells us that the movie will not be shy of showing blood. The Udta Punjab star will play a battered soldier fighting for the British India army in Germany during the Great War.

“For the first time in Punjabi film industry a movie is being made on this subject. A lot of Sikh soldiers sacrificed their lives in World War I and this is our tribute to them. It’s a matter of pride and honour for me to be directing such a film. Diljit has lived this dream and put his heart and soul in this character. Since it’s a unique subject we are sure the audience will like it,” said Batra while releasing the poster.
