It would be the first time that a director asked the audience to NOT watch the trailer of his own film. This is what the director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson stated on twitter alerting his fans of spoilers, “If you want to come in totally 100% clean.” But looks like that the director couldn’t help himself after all. The trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi released on Monday, October 9.
I a legitimately torn. If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it.
But it’s gooooood..... https://t.co/Y29K5yz8i4— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) October 8, 2017

The trailer premiered during halftime of the Monday night football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears with storm troopers marching onto Chicago’s Soldier Field while the preview played onscreen.
This is the eighth part in the Star War series which is a continuation of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). The teaser for the latest edition came out early this year only to whet our imagination. The storyline picks up from the final scene in The Force Awakens where Rey and Luke Skywalker come face-to-face on a mountaintop. The trailer showcases Rey with lightsaber under Luke’s instruction.Whereas, the late Carrie Fisher who had recorded her final scenes as Princess Leia is seen again now as General Leia.
The trailer featured the new gen characters of the Star Wars Universe- Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Stormtroopers and the Millennium Falcon tearing through space piloted by Chewbacca and a new bird-like creature namely Porg. Also, Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac) could be seen in a showdown between forces of good and evil.
So, it’s time to take out your lightsabers because The Last Jedi is coming to your nearest screens on December 15.
