After horror spin off, Aquaman to now come back with a sequel
Aquaman's sequel is underway, with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick co-writing the new instalment.
Just recently we came across reports suggesting that Warner Bros. is developing The Trench as a spinoff horror movie to its mega-hit Aquaman. Following which, we have now learned that the makers are bringing us the sequel to the original story. The news comes two months after the release of the film, which went on to become the most successful film of the DC universe. The film raked in $1.12 billion globally and is also Warner Bros.’ first DC movie to cross the 1 billion mark after The Dark Knight Rises.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Warner Bros. has roped in David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who was a co-writer of the first film, to begin penning a new instalment of the franchise. The report also states that the director of the first instalment, James Wan, ‘is making a deal to return as producer’ along with Peter Safran. However, it’s unclear whether Wan would direct the film or not. Well, the news of its sequel is surely a piece of big news for DC fans!
Coming to the horror spin-off, the studio got in touch with Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald to write a script centred on the Trench. Trench is identified as the deadly amphibious creatures who attacked Aquaman and Mera in the film.Read More
