They avenged the fallen and then some, but now we have even more time with the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. In an apparent bid to knock Avatar off the top spot as the highest-grossing film of all time, Avengers Endgame is returning to cinemas with an extended cut with an apparent additional six minutes of new footage. The extended cut will run for a total of 186 minutes according to Cineworld and will arrive in UK cinemas on June 28, 2019. Cineworld confirmed that there will be a pre-feature intro from co-director Anthony Russo. There have been rumours about what this extra footage will entail but now we may know what to expect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
According to MCU Cosmic, the film will show a deleted scene that focuses primarily on Hulk/Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), which will definitely please fans of his new Professor Hulk guise where he has the smarts of Bruce Banner but the strength of his green alter-ego. Additionally, we can expect more of a tease, likely in the end credits, for the next film in the Spider-Man franchise. The upcoming release will follow Peter Parker (Tom Holland) as he attempts to move on from the events of the devastating Endgame and protect Earth from an inter-dimensional threat known as the Elementals, aided by new arrival Mysterio/Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal).
Finally, it is also reported that there will be a touching tribute to Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee who passed away in 2018. It remains to be seen if the reports are true, but it sounds very likely. We wonder if there will be room for 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford to put in an appearance as Morgan Stark after her scenes as a teenage version of the character were deleted.
